Game Cover and Wildlife Crops

Our range of game covers are specially formulated to ensure you will be able to achieve the best from your cover crops.

Game maize

is still a very popular choice of crop, as it can be used for both cover and feed, our game cover varieties are selected with the following criteria in mind; good standing, maturity, resistance to lodging and disease resistance.

Kales and Brassicas

Kale still remains popular as a cover as it offers cover for the whole shooting season and is often mixed with other Brassicas such as Quinoa and Yellow Blossom Clover.  We are increasingly using hybrid brassicas for there rapid growth and winter hardiness.

Sunflowers

have become more popular over the last few years due to the increase range of different types becoming more available.  The traditional Sunflower had a seed head that a pheasant could not reach, so the introduction of dwarf and super dwarf varieties has allowed increase utilization of this crop.

Sorghum

is a crop that will provide both feed and cover throughout the shooting season, it is available in different heights, dwarf, intermediate and tall and it is possible to have a mixture of both.

Our range of Game Cover Mixtures have been specially formulated to ensure both feed and cover production, the ability to attract and hold specific types of game and with carefully consideration can extend the utilization period.
